Jo Wickum December 4, 1914 - December 15, 2012 Josephine Marie (Froehlingsdorf) Wickum was born December 4, 1914 to Anton and Angelia (Ruppert) Froehlingsdorf in St. Paul, Minnesota and passed away on December 15, 2012, in Bakersfield, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; son, John; parents, Anton and Angelia Froehlingsdorf; and siblings Marie, Cecelia (Sister Angeline), Margaret, Jerome, Othmar (Ots), Francis (Fran) and Angela. She is survived by her daughter Mary Jo Pasek and son-in-law Tom Pasek of Bakersfield, California. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for over 75 years. Ray was on the Board of Directors and Jo was a school volunteer, Christian Mothers President and longtime member of the Ladies Aid and well as Catholic Order of Foresters. In her spare time she drove the Sisters of St Benedict to monthly appointments in St Cloud. Active in her community Jo served as a lay member of the County Commissioners during the 1960's. She traveled throughout the United States in that capacity. Jo became ill on November 25, 2012 while visiting her daughter and son in law in Bakersfield, California. She died on December 15, 2012 in Mercy Southwest Hospital with Mary Jo and Tom at her side. The family wishes to thank all of the care providers at Mercy Southwest and Rosewood Skilled Nursing. A memorial celebration of her life will be held in Long Prairie in the spring and a graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan, Minnesota.
