JoAnn Bales 1943 - 2012 JoAnn was born in Bakersfield, California on January 3, 1943 and passed away on July 19, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She lived in Bakersfield all of her life. JoAnn worked for both Wells Fargo and Crocker Banks as an Assistant Vice President for many years before retiring due to health reasons. She is survived by her loving husband Kenny, who was her high school sweetheart to whom she was married to for over 51 years, her son Tim and his wife Dina, grandchildren Sadie, Kailee and Cole all of Bakersfield. Also, her daughter Kimberly and her husband Tom Carpenter, both from Bakersfield. Her happiest times were spent with her family, friends and her two devoted dogs Angie and Maggie. JoAnn enjoyed traveling with Kenny in their motorhome. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who always showed kindness and compassion for others. She was loved and adored by her family, friends and everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. We would like to acknowledge JoAnn's closest friends, Jim and Frances Beirne, Ron and Judy Hill and Freddie Macias with whom she shared a close relationship and shared many good times and memories. JoAnn was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roland and Edwina Thomas as well as her brother Mike Thomas and cousin Janett Heiser, both of whom she was extremely close with. At JoAnn's request, a graveside service will be conducted for family and friends at Hillcrest Memorial Park on August 7th, 2012 at 11:00 am. We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr.'s Ashraf Alim, Antonia Chalmers and PA Kris Isenman.
