Joel Contreras "Joey" Caraballo Obituary
Joel "Joey" Contreras Caraballo April 11, 1990 - August 21, 2012 Joel "Joey" Contreras Caraballo, 22 years of age, has finished the Good Fight of Faith and now our "Prince" has gone home. Joey was on his way to work when he was met with a fatal motorcycle accident. He was born on April 11, 1990, in Bakersfield, California to Homero Caraballo and Maria Elena Contreras Caraballo. Joey graduated from Arvin High School in 2008, attended Bakersfield College in 2009. While Joey was still single, the beautiful young lady, love of his life, was Vanessa Covarrubias. Joey is survived by his parents Homero, Maria Elena both of Lamont; his brothers Eliseo Caraballo, Ruben Saavedra, Jonathan Caraballo, Giovanni Caraballo; sisters, Priscilla C. Peñaloza, Rebekah C. Morales, Noemi C. Caraballo; Brother-in-laws, Manuel Penaloza, Angel Morales, and Sister-in-law Crystal Caraballo; Nephews Isaiah, Malachi, Jesiah, and Elijah Peñaloza; Nieces MacKenzie and Lillian Caraballo; Alexis and Vivica Mendoza. Many Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins to the fifth generation. Joey was employed by Harbinson & Fischer until most recently when he took a promotion to work at MSP Services of California, a Dover Company, as a Rig Technician. He dedicated three years of his life to full time ministry at Tehilláh Church, Bakersfield, first working with Youth in the Beniah Academy followed by working as Assistant Men's Home Director. In October of 2011 he returned home to live with his mother in Lamont. Joey was passionate about life and everything he did reflected his energy and enthusiasm. Football as he played for Arvin High School Bears as a Middle Linebacker, Full Back, and Defense Captain. He loved his nephews, nieces, and little brothers, always keeping a prayerful eye for them. He desired to travel the world, taking the good news in the name of Jesus Christ. He was family oriented. He was a devoted member of Tehilláh Church. Therein he developed in a strong faith and love for God. We are so thankful for the "short" 22 years he was with us, but lived it to his fullest. We loved him and will miss him dearly, we know we'll see him again, for that is the Hope of Glory. In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Tehillah Church "Mission" in his memory. He wanted all to experience the peace and joy he had found and was willing to travel the world to accomplish this dream. The Contreras/Caraballo family extends their most sincere appreciation and support to the many friends and families that have expressed their condolences. To our Pastors Eliodoro and Connie Contreras loved and cared for him as their own. For further information please contact Tehillah Church at 661-871-4458.
