John Alfred Martinez Obituary
John Alfred Martinez July 19, 1947 - June 17, 2013 John was born to Tómas and Jennie Martinez on July 19, 1947. He was raised in Corcoran, California where he attended local schools. He furthered his studies at Fresno State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy. John was hired as a California Food Inspector and his love for agriculture led him to his career with J.G. Boswell Company and Parsons Farms. John enjoyed life to the fullest and had never met a stranger he did not like. He had an uncountable amount of friends whom he considered family. He looked forward to spending Sunday mornings with his friends at Noriega's and afternoon brunch with his family at Don Pericos (White Lane). Further, John enjoyed his annual trips with his family to San Francisco for a Giants game and super bowl Sunday in Las Vegas. Family was the most important thing in John's life and has taught his legacy the true value of love. There was never a request that went unanswered and before his entrance into heaven he made sure that everything and everyone was taken care of. John leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 44 years Myra, daughter Gloriann Torres (John), sons John Jr. (Veronica), Stephen (Lynn), and Christopher (Erica). The greatest joy of John's life was the birth of his precious grand babies, Elisa, Klarissa, Brandon, Justin, Shantel, Danielle, Justin, Alicia, and Adrian. He also leaves behind his father Tómas (Joy), two sisters Rosita Garcia (Ernie), Juanita Madrid (Raymond), numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Jennie and brothers, Thomas "Sonny" and Rudy. Viewing is scheduled for Sunday June 23rd, 2013 from 4pm-8pm with a rosary following at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Ln.
