John (Jack) Davis Obituary
John (Jack) Davis February 27, 1932 - October 25, 2012 On October 25th a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed into the hands of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Jack was born in Bakersfield, California to Albert and Marguerite Davis. He attended local schools and spent four years serving his country in the US Navy. Jack graduated from Bakersfield College, Fresno State College and received his master's degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Jack taught and was principal of the Lebec and Arvin School Districts. He was Superintendent of the Arvin Elementary Schools the last 20 years of his career in education. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Arvin Lion's Club. He also loved playing golf every Tuesday morning with his friends. Jack is survived by his loving wife,Virginia, of 58 years. Four daughters, Diane Creech and husband Jim, Renee Hill and husband Chris, Jacquie Davis, Karen Lind and husband Yancy; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two siblings, sister, Nancy Loustalot, her husband Alvin and brother, Richard Davis. Jack always enjoyed and loved having family and friends around. Jack was always helping others, taking care of his four daughters and their families. He was a boy at heart. He loved giving and receiving presents, and the family enjoyed his childhood stories. He will always be missed. Services for Jack will be Tuesday, October 30th at 10 a.m. at First Methodist Church, 4600 Stockdale Hwy. Reception afterwards to be announced. www.bakersfield.com/obits
