John Schultz Obituary

John S. Schultz 1929 - 2010 SSgt John S. Schultz USMC (Ret); born May 20, 1929 in Akron, Ohio. Died October 30, 2010 in Bakersfield, CA. John served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 1946 to 1953 with the Constabulary Corps in Germany during WWII and the reconstruction period. John then transferred service to the U.S. Marine Corps where he was a crewman assigned to VMO-6 "Klondike" in Vietnam, as a recruiter in Bakersfield, and concluding his service at MCAS El Toro. John was a member of American Legion Post 682, VFW, Moose Lodge, and the Eagles of Bakersfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita M. Schultz; granddaughter, Genevieve A. Huguenin; and son, James S. Schultz; and survived by children, Victoria L Dixon and husband Rodney, Jon S. Schultz and wife Deanna of Bakersfield, Robin L. Rice of St. Peters, MO; and 8 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren. Graveside services with full Military Honors Friday, Nov. 12, 10:45 a.m., at Bakersfield National Cemetery. www.bakersfield.com/obits
