Obituary Condolences

John Torres Moreno went to join the Lord on May 17, 2015 after a prolonged hospital stay while recovering from a stroke he suffered in 2010. John was preceded by his parents, Isabel and Jennie Moreno. Nephews Johnny (Cody) Ramirez and Joe Aaron Miranda.
John is survived by his son Dustin Moreno, daughter, Tonya Dixon (George) their mother Tammy and daughter in-law Mickie Moreno. He was one of 10 siblings: Jessie Briseno, Lupe Ramirez (Carlos), Pauline Moreno, Esther Duffy (Michael), Elizabeth Martinez, Ruben Moreno, Molly Valenzula (Able), Robert Moreno (Olga), and Mark Rangel.
John was the proud grandfather to: Dustin Moreno Jr. (11). Kayla Moreno (10), Abbigayle Moreno (8), and Caydence Moreno (7) Taylor Russell (11) Madison Russell (10) & Daulton Dixon (2). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
John was born and raised in Bakersfield where he attended grade school and graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1971. In high school John played football and continued his interest in sports as a coach in local youth programs.
After high school John worked for 20 years as a printer with several local companies including Hoven & Co. and Mercy Hospital. He also worked for Vons for over 10 years.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10 A.M. on June 13, 2015 at the New Life Center, 4201 Stine Rd. Bakersfield.
