Josefa C. Salinas March 19, 1926 - March 16, 2013 Born in Hidalgo County, Texas to parents Esequiel and Maria Castro, Josefa met and married Roberto L. Salinas on October 5, 1945. Josepha worked at the Texas theatre and Ducaneers for many years. She was an active member of the womans auxiliary, and also was a member of the widowmites womans organization at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Raymondville. Josefa and Robert relocated to McFarland, California in 1967. Robert working for R & L farms and Josefa for Paramount Growers and as an Avon Representative. Throughout the years they have been blessed with countless godchildren, always saying yes when asked to be padrinos at weddings, baptism, and quinceaneras. Josefa and Roberto loved to dance and Josefa often joining in to do the Segunda Voz when one of her favorite songs were sung. They loved life together thus marrying eachother three times. The first time in Raymondville, TX., the second on their 25th anniversary celebrated in McFarland, CA., and the third time in Italy for their 50th anniversary. Their roots are in Texas and it was their wish to be joined there for eternity together. Roberto Salinas passed on February 06, 2011. They are survived by their children Robert Jr., Mary Gloria, Rene Lee, Rosa Lamar, Janet Sandra, and Richard Michael Salinas; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers throughout Josefas Illness. A Mass in their honor will be held at St. Elizabeth Church, 835 E. Perkins Ave., McFarland, California on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 7 p.m. All services will be held at Duddleston Funeral Home in Raymondville, Texas. Rosary will be held Tuesday, March 26th at 7 p.m. with burial on Wednesday, March 27th. at 3 p.m. at Raymondville Memorial Cemetery, Raymondville, Texas. www.bakersfield.com/obits
