Joseph A. Kutyba

. - In Memoriam Condolences
In Loving Memory of Joseph A. Kutyba August 27, 1928 - October 31, 2013 Joseph August Kutyba of Portage, Pennsylvania, son of Luis J. Kutyba and Verna Planko Kutyba-Skrout, departed from his earthly home Thursday, October 31, 2013. He was the oldest of six children and took the duty of caring for his family very seriously. "Handy Joe" was the epitome of a hard working American. He proudly served his country twenty-one years, sixteen of which were overseas. But he wasn't finished there. After returning home, he served his country yet again as a postal worker, walking his mail route for twenty faithful years. He was awarded the highest degree of Knighthood in the Knights of Columbus, and could be found volunteering his time to anyone in need on any given day. He always credited all of his accomplishments to the woman by his side. Since March 7, 1953, he and his wife Elfriede (Patricia) Kutyba shared a wonderful romance. They explored the world together and traveled places only a dreamer could imagine. He remained so proud of their humble beginnings and was always ready to share their love story to any passer-bye. With a pep in his step and a tune in his heart, Joe brought joy and laughter everywhere he went. There is no doubt that heaven's new angel brings happiness all around.   He leaves to mourn in passing, wife Elfriede Patricia Kutyba, brother Raymond Kutyba and sister Regina Skrout, sisters-in-law Bobette Kutyba, Charlotte Kutyba, and Susan Kutyba, daughter Bernadette (Dan) Palmer, granddaughters Emily (Christopher) Hogue and Sara (Jerod) Palmer, great-grandchildren Mia, Camden, and Arianna (Sara) and Zerek (Emily) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins alike.   He is preceded in death by his brothers Luis Kutyba, John Kutyba, and George Kutyba.  www.bakersfield.com/obits
