Joyce Lavoyn (Ray) Allen

Joyce Lavoyn (Ray) Allen Obituary
On May 22, 2015 Joyce Lavoyn (Ray) Allen went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her entire family and passed away peacefully after a short illness. Lavoyn was born August 20, 1932, one of five children in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Cecil and Mabel Ray. The family left Oklahoma and followed the dust bowl travelers to Idaho, Washington and Oregon to pick various crops. They settled in Bakersfield where she lived out her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and son, Michael.
She is survived by husband Bill Allen, siblings Alva Ray and Shirley Palmer (Jack). Two daughters, Diana Somers and Delynn Martin(Rick). Two sons Randy Somers(Melissa) and Sidney Payne(Billie). 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She was one of The Ray Sisters, who entertained and blessed many throughout their gospel singing career of 40 years.
We would like to thank the nurses at San Joaquin Hospital, Denise G. at Hoffman Hospice and the many care givers that showed Mom love and compassion. It was Moms wish that each life she touched would come to know Jesus so she would share eternity with them. We pray her wish will be granted.
Funeral services will be held at the First Assembly of God, 4901 California Avenue, Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment immediately following at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary.
