Juanita Marie "Bonnie" Gavin Obituary
Juanita Marie (Bonnie) Gavin passed away in Bkfsd. on Oct. 2, 2014. Born in Springfield, MO on May 11, 1928 to Herbert Henry Hull and Marie Elizabeth Wilhelmi, the third child of five. The family moved to Bkfsd. in the late 30's. Bonnie attended East Bkfsd High School, met & married Jerry Gavin on Feb. 14, 1947. In Dec. that year they welcomed their only child Larry. They were just 2 months short of their 67th wedding anniversary when Jerry passed.
After retiring from the County of Kern as a court clerk, she and Jerry traveled, hiked, fished and had a very good time camping all over the Sierra Nevadas. In the 80's they spent summers on Klamath River fishing for salmon, then on to Gold Beach, Oregon where she caught a 47 1/2 lb salmon, her largest fish, in 1999. They fished, smoked and canned their fish until 2008. They had alot of fun doing what they loved and passed it on to the family.
Bonnie was a hardworking person who was dedicated to her family & home. She was a great cook & we always looked forward to her "rum cake". She will be sorely missed by those that love her.
She is survived by her sister Elaine, son Larry and wife Carole, grandson Wade & wife Glenna & great grandson Blake & numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Jerry, brother Herb Hull, sister Louise Lobel and brother Bobby Hull.
Special thanks to Hoffmann Hospice and to the caregivers at Summit Hills, Dr. Keith Seidenstricker & Francis, for taking such good care of our loved one.
No services at her request.
