June Dreblow Obituary
June Dreblow June 13, 1926 - May 31, 2013 A remarkable and beautiful woman with a strong spirit, loyalty to family and generous contributor to the community of Bakersfield, June Dreblow passed away at the age of eighty-six on Friday, May 31, 2013. June was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma June 13, 1926, to Annie and Julius Lane. She moved to Roswell, New Mexico as a young child and graduated from a local high school there in 1944. Playing on the All-Star Basketball team initiated a life-long love of sports. She belonged to the Junior Women's Club in Roswell and some of her fondest memories were dancing to the sounds of the big bands with her fellow members at the nearby Air Force Officer's Club during the war years. The family moved to Bakersfield in December, 1944. June married her first husband, Budd Bradford, in September of 1947 and subsequently raised their son, Wes Bradford, while pursuing a long and notable career with the Pacific Bell Telephone Company. A career woman before her time, she started as a telephone operator in 1947 and rose in the ranks to become part of management in charge of Public Relations and Human Resources. In her last years at the company, her natural determination and dedication were shown when she became one of the first woman engineers in the region. Always respected and admired, she worked thirty-six years for the telephone company and retired in 1983. June married Milford Burton Dreblow in April 1975 and enjoyed many years of a loving relationship enjoying each other and their many friends and family. June and Milt loved to golf and travel and many times they combined these two passions and were able to visit many wonderful places. After retiring, June joined the Assistance League of Bakersfield and was an enthusiastic volunteer for twenty-three years. Holding many officer positions including Chairman of the Petite Bazaar, she concluded as President and believed deeply in the charitable mission of the League. An active golfer, June became President of the Stockdale Country Club from 1999-2001. June loved to golf and even had a hole in one in which she was very proud. She also enjoyed bridge and played in many local bridge groups for many years. Always devoted to her family, she was generous, warm and loving. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Milt, son Wes Bradford and daughter in law Tracey, her dear sister Judy Hodges and her husband Bob. She cherished her grandchildren Natalie Kronfeldt and her husband Lee, Nicholas Bradford, Brendon Bradford, and Wesley Bradford II and her adored great-grandchildren Jackson, Payton and Hudson Bradford & Quinlan, Eden and Lachlan Kronfeldt. June is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Sibyl Newman, Sylvia Louise Manning and J.F. (Jeff) Lane. June's strength of character, infectious laughter, and loyal devotion to family and friends will be missed by all who loved and respected her. A special thanks to Sandra Espinoza with Coordinating Care Management and Barbara Pagni with Around the Clock Companion Care for the love and care they showed to June in the past year. Also, thank you to Sam Swanson and Sandra Burns with Hall Ambulance for the kindness and compassion they showed during a difficult time. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9th from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd. A mass will be held for June on Monday, June 10, 2013 9:00 a.m at St. Francis of Assisi Parish at 900 H Street, Bakersfield, Ca.
