Kenneth E. Summerford Obituary
Kenneth E. Summerford was born in Bell, California on February 18, 1930 and passed away on July 6, 2014 at his home in Bakersfield with family beside him. He lived in Bakersfield for over 60 years.
He reunited with his wife Ruth M. Summerford, his son Stephen R. Summerford and his parents, Hugh and Virginia Summerford.
He served in the Korean War as a Corporal of the Marines. He went to Bakersfield College for two years and got his A.A., degree. He worked at Atlantic Richfield as a mechanic for 12 years and was a truck driver for over 30 years.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his four daughters, Kathy (Joe) Storement, Kim (Eric) Barron, Terrie (Tom) Turpin and Debbie (Mike) Prestidge; one son, Joseph (Toni) Timmins along with 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 10th, from 4:00 to 7:00pm, at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd. Services will be Friday, July 11th at 9:30am also at Greenlawn.
