Kenneth Kenny Wayne Fitzwater Obituary
Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Fitzwater November 10, 1968 - September 13, 2013 Funeral services for Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Fitzwater will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel (3312 Niles Street) on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Kenny was born in Auburn, California on November 10, 1968 to Donald and Wava Fitzwater. Kenny moved to the Bakersfield area with his family in 1985. Kenny attended East Bakersfield High School and grew up in the Rosedale area. That is where Kenny met the love of his life, Michelle Anderson. In Michelle, Kenny found a kindred spirit, a best friend and a soul mate. The two were inseparable from the beginning and set out on an adventure. Kenny found employment in the local oil and gas industry and worked as a roughneck for many oilfield companies. While he worked in the Kern County Oilpatch, Kenny and Michelle were building a family with their children; Tiason, Amanda, Hailee, and Kylee. As the family grew, Kenny grew and moved into the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator and progressed to a leadership role because of his hard work and commitment to his company. Along the way, as he grew personally and professionally, Kenny was quick to make friends. Kenny cherished his friendships and was the kind of man who would go out of his way to help a friend, or stranger. As he grew up, and later on as a husband and father, Kenny developed a deep love for the natural beauty of California. Kenny and Michelle would travel hill and dale with the kids in tow. They loved camping as a family and being outdoors. From the coast, to the lakes, rivers and canals, California offers a wide variety of great places to fish and fishing was a passion for the Fitzwater Gang. Kenny and Michelle eventually settled in the Kern River Valley for the beauty, the fishing, and the community. Kenny loved dogs and was usually had his lap full. Kenny loved music and was also fond of working in his garden, raising chickens and loved to cook. In his memory, he would want everyone to take the time to fellowship in the natural beauty that surrounds us. Kenny has now gone home to be with the Lord; his mother, Wava; and brother, Donnie Dale Fitzwater. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his children, Tiason, Amanda, Hailee, and Kylee; his grandsons, DylanLawhon and Noah Fitzwater; father, Donald Fitzwater; his five sisters; his six dogs; and numerous other family members and friends.
