Kenneth Ray Ingram Obituary
Kenneth Ray Ingram, age 88, passed away at home with his wife DeWanda of 71 years and children Brenda and Lester by his side.
Kenny was born on the family farm on January 17, 1927 in McFarland, CA. He passed away August 14, 2015 in Los Osos, CA. He was the youngest son of William Lester Ingram and Vonie Elizabeth Ingram.
In 1945, at the age of 18, Kenny joined the Merchant Marines. He and his ship, the Gretna Victory, were deployed in the invasion of Okinawa. After he served in the military, he returned home to McFarland. Kenny continued the family tradition of farming. He was also one of the Ingram's that pioneered the growing of Kiwi Fruit in the US. Kenny and Dewanda moved to Los Osos, CA after selling the farm in the early 80's. They loved traveling in their motorhome visiting family in Texas, Oklahoma and especially loved Branson, Missouri.
Kenny loved his family, friends and he never met a stranger.
After battling Leukemia for 5 years, his residence is now in Heaven. Kenny is living in glory with his Lord Jesus, parents, brothers, sisters and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; William Lester & Vonie Elizabeth Ingram, Brothers; Merlyn (Glenna), Dub (Lillian), Bentley (Thelma), Jack (Noreen) Ingram, Sisters; Notie Rambo and Louise (Snowy) Chroman.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dewanda Ingram; Children: Brenda (Roy) Martin, Lester (Pat) Ingram, Bakersfield, CA; Grandchildren: Justin (Julie) Ingram, Mike (Rita) Martin, Bakersfield, CA, Jillian (Mark) Lavach, Lake Forest, CA, Beau (Kalen) Ingram, Bakersfield, CA. Great Grandkids: Haley, Allison, and Gabby Martin, Gavin & Abby Ingram, Colton Ingram & Scarlett Lavach.
Services will be held on Saturday August 22, 2015 at North Kern District Cemetery in Delano, CA at 11:00 am.
