Kim was born in 1947 in Vietnam where she grew up. She met her husband, Peter Fraetis, while he was serving in Vietnam. They were married for 47 dedicated years. Kim was proud to call the United States of America her home. A year before she moved to this country in1974, she worked diligently to obtain her citizenship. Upon receiving her citizenship, Kim and Peter along with their son Lloyd moved to the States.
Shortly upon their arrival, they set up home base in Bakersfield where Kim lived out the remainder of her life. She worked hard as a waitress at the Rice Bowl for many years, and made many friends while doing so. She had a large group of friends that she cared greatly for. Despite many health problems, Kim was always on the go and regularly went to work out at the gym. Kim was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Peter Fraetis, son Lloyd Fraetis, grandchildren Jade Sanders, Max Fraetis-Whitney, Crosby Whitney, great-grandaughter Analeigh Fraetis-Whitney and many other extended family members. Kim will also be missed by her family in Vietnam and her many close friends.
