Kitty Johnson 1956 - 2012 Kitty Ann Johnson died suddenly on Friday, August 31, 2012. Kitty was born in Pryor, Oklahoma on November 17, 1956 to the proud parents of Donald and Dorothy Roomsburg. She moved to Bakersfield in 1990 where she met and married Dan Johnson on December 4, 1993. Love of family and service to her community and work would be defining themes throughout her life. Kitty spent many of her adult years pursuing her passion for civic involvement and her strong desire to improve quality of life for all Bakersfield. She served on the board of the and also served as President of the Mended Hearts Association, being a 2 time survivor of open heart surgery herself. She and Dan shared a love for their dogs and cats, and on occasion would rescue a pet that was in need of a home. Kitty's family will always remember her wonderful sense of fun and love she showered on family. She and Dan were always planning their next trip to Idaho to see their new granddaughter Taloula. She is survived by her dearly-loved husband, Dan, her two children (daughter Angels Comstock, husband Chad, Granddaughter Taloula, and Son Richard Thurman). Also her sister Linda Bridges of Bakersfield, brothers Mark Roomsburg of Bakersfield and Steven Roomsburg of Washington. On Saturday, the 8'th of September, friends are cordially invited to gather with the family to celebrate Kitty's life at St. Francis Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. A reception will be held at St. Francis following funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that consideration be given to making donations to either the or the Mended Hearts.
