Laura Stahl Obituary

Laura was born in Bakersfield, CA and peacefully passed away May 3, 2017.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Marvin Graham Stahl; children, Scott Stahl (Elizabeth) and Allison Colvin (Anthony); grandchildren Alex, Graham, Zachary, Garrett, Lauren, Natalie, Bridget. She loved Lindsey White (Cody) like a daughter and their children Asher, Lincoln; mother Wanda J Dunnagan (Jimmy), sisters Mary, Leona, Janie, and families; brother-in-law Wayne (Ronda); nieces and nephews Mike, Jason, Stephen, Carriann, Chad, and families, along with many others she considered family; and lifelong best friends Vicki Trevino (Rolando), Kathy Bohlander (Doctor Mark), Paula Lundin (Jeff), Leslie Oberholzer (Roy) and families. She is preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, brothers and sisters.
She was loved by so many and touched so many lives, it's impossible to see how far and wide her impact has made on this world. She suffered for so long and had become so discouraged from not being able to shine her light like she'd done her whole life. She was considered a matchmaker, baby stealer, late night counselor, baby sitter, a 2nd mom to so many, a friend... I could go on and on and still not come close to describing the impact she made on everyone around her. Most importantly, she was a woman of God. Christ's compassion poured out through her and reached far and wide.
Services are as follows: viewing is Thursday, May 11th, from 5-9pm at Hillcrest Mortuary. Graveside is Friday, May 12th at 9:15 am at Bakersfield National Cemetery. Memorial Service to follow at 11 am held at Hillcrest Mortuary.

I love you mom

Mom...I wish you were here to read all the beautiful notes and stories from people who loved you. I know I've been comforted by seeing all the love you've poured out to everyone you knew come full circle. You were loved by so many and touched so many lives, it's impossible to see how far and wide your impact has made in this world. You suffered for so long and had become so discouraged from not being able to shine your light like you'd done your whole life. Over the last few weeks, people who's lives have been touched by you have told some stories about something you'd done for them or how you'd shown love and compassion for them. Or how you were such a matchmaker, baby stealer, late night counselor, baby sitter, a 2nd mom to so many, a friend... I could go on and on and still not even come close to describing the impact you left on everyone around you. But most importantly, you were a woman of God. Christ's compassion poured out through you and reached far and wide. I'm so happy for you and rejoice in knowing that you're with Jesus now.
You completely put all that was in you into your family. You loved dad so much that it made you physically I'll when you thought he was mad at you for even such a small thing. He was your heart, and you, his. Your last few days on earth proved to me what true love looks like and I'm so thankful that I've had that example all my life. Scott and I (and Lindsey) and never had to doubt that you loved us. Anthony and Elizabeth (and Cody) weren't just your sons and daughter in law, they were your kids. You showered us all with your love and affection. Your grandkids...oh boy, this is tough. I think they were what kept you going for so long. You couldn't stand not seeing the kids for more than a couple days and longed for G and L to be with you.
I don't know how to move on without you. I'm broken and incomplete without you. Who's gonna call me a zillion times a day just because? I love you and miss you so much it hurts. But I know you're whole again and no longer suffering and for that, I'm thankful. You're in the arms of Jesus and I'll see you soon.
I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my mama you'll be❤❤❤

I hold numerous memories of the Stahl household. Aunt Laura was a Dear, sweet lady who would do anything for anyone. She Baby say my son a lot, when he was tiny. fixed me up with my first blind date at 16, ALWAYS fed me and gave me gifts! She was a wonderful lady! God bless her entire family and all of her friends in their time of deep sorrow.

Laura, you will be forever missed.. I spent a lot of time at your house during my younger years and even after I was married. Cleaning house for you was how I was able to be a stay at home mom. It was always a great day on those days, not only would you pay me well, you would spoil my babies ( Jacque and Mandi ) with toys, going to lunch, and just playing with them.. Thank you for all the love you gave to myself and my family over the years.. I love you!!!❤❤. P. S. Eric is going to miss you pinching his bum and saying sorry Eric I just couldn't resist!! ..... oh, and thanks for all the perms!!! Love, Kimberly Slagle..

Laura, you truly did touch so many lives and blessed so many with your friendship and love. Our friendship/sisterhood began over forty years ago and I will cherish every memory we made together. I will keep your memory strong in the lives of our grandchildren and always remind them of how much they were loved. I know you are at peace now, happy, and in the arms of Jesus. I love you Laura Lou!
