1931 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
Leslie "Les" H. Conner, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born to the late Leslie O. and Ruth Conner on June 27, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Phoenix, Arizona along with his older brother, Bob.
Les was a romantic soul who was the high school sweetheart and devoted husband of Lucy J. Keltner for over 65 years. He will forever be cherished by his children, Lee (Pam) Conner, Catherine (Tim) Conner Ramos and late-daughter Julia (Kelly) McFarland; treasured grandchildren, Candice (Jesus) McFarland Camacho, Matt (Amy) Conner, Travis McFarland, Lesley (David) Ramos Lee, Morgan Ramos, and Jack Ramos as well as his 7 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all, along with countless friends and family whom are blessed to have known him.
After serving in the military with pride and honor, Les made a 35-plus year career with Sears, finding satisfaction with those he worked with as much as the work itself. Just meeting Les you were struck with his personal integrity, quick wit and humility. He enjoyed his time in Mexico with his friends, especially during his retirement when he and Lucy were able to expand on their humanitarianism. Les was a lover of life; whether listening to music, playing sports/games, spending time outdoors, laughing or doing the right thing - he was passionate about it all.
Les touched the lives of many people with his smile and high-mindedness and maintained his trademark sense of humor to the very end. Consistent with his spirit of generosity, donations to in lieu of flowers is appreciated.
Adios, Señor Les.
Until we meet again.
