Lillian Elsa Selent 1919 - 2012 Lillian Selent, 93, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2012. She was born to Pauline and Louis James (LJ) Lothrop in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3, 1919. She grew up in Footville, Ohio and graduated from Footville High School in 1939. She moved to Cleveland after graduation. She was working at Thompson Aircraft during the war where she was introduced to her future husband, Robert, by her co-worker and future mother- in-law. Robert was in the Army Air Corp. but as soon as the war was over he came back and Lillian and he were married on May 19, 1946. After the wedding the new couple moved to Toledo, Ohio, which was Robert's hometown. After nine years of marriage they welcomed their daughter Barbara Lee into the world. In 1957 they moved to Delano, CA where they resided until 2011 when health matters required assistance. Lillian was a member of the Delano Methodist Church and was active in many clubs and activities over the years in Delano but her true loves were her family, golf, gardening and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harry, sisters Louise Schuman, Eleanor Price, Virginia Bates and Mary Green plus many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughter, Barbara Lee Russoniello and husband Fabio; and her grandson, Nicholas Kleiner. A funeral service will be held on December 27th, at 10:00 a.m., at Mission Funeral Home's Chapel, 531 California Ave. www.bakersfield.com/obits
