Lillie Mae Fabbri Candelaria 1921 - 2013 Lillie Mae Fabbri Candelaria went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2013. Lillie was born May 31, 1921 in Bakersfield, CA where she lived all her life. She was preceded in death by her father, Luigi; mother, Eugenia Fabbri; and her brother, Frank Fabbri. She is survived by her son, Louis C. Candelaria and wife Rose Lee of Bakersfield; grandson, Christopher Candelaria and wife Amy of Los Angeles; granddaughter, Renee Humecky and husband Brock; and her two great grandchildren, Brooke and Aidan Humecky of Bakersfield. Lillie attended local grammar schools and graduated from Kern County Union High School in 1939. Upon graduation from high school she went to work at S & H Kress. Lillie worked for Kresses for 34 years. At the time of Kresses closing Lillie had achieved the title of Floor Supervisor. After Kresses closed in 1974, Lillie went to work at Lerners Dress Shop. She worked there for three years until Lerners moved to Valley Plaza. Lillie then went to work for Vest Drug store and stayed there as a faithful employee for 17 years. She retired at the age of 73. Lillie spent a grand total of 54 years working in retail where she made many life long friends. Lillie was famous for her baking and candy making which she generously gave to friends and family. She will be long remembered for that. Her grandchildren will always remember the grand Easter egg hunts she put on for them every Easter and the special times they had playing games at the kitchen table or the special luncheons she provided for all their teenage friends each Sunday after church. At this time the family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Evergreen Health Care Facility for all the loving attention and caring treatment they gave to our mother. We also appreciate Hoffmann Hospice staff, especially Christian for their assistance in Lillie's final days. In lieu of flowers donations in Lillie's name may be made to Hoffmann Hospice, 8501 Brimhall Rd., Bldg. 100, Bakersfield, CA 93312, or any .
