Lino "Lee" Tessandori Obituary
Lino "Lee" Tessandori August 4, 1925 - May 8, 2013 Catholic memorial service will be held in Bakersfield, CA, at Greenlawn Cemetery, 5700 River Blvd at 1pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Lino "Lee" Robert Tessandori sadly passed away at the age of 87 on Wednesday, May 8th. He was born on August 4th, 1925, in Bakersfield, California where he lived his whole life. His parents were Italian immigrants who arrived in the United States coming through Ellis Island, a very dear place that Lee and Rose Marie Burch, his wife of 67 years, had visited. Lee graduated with the class of 1945 from East Bakersfield High School. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a car foreman until he retired at the age of 61. After his retirement, he spent time traveling with Rose and his family. Lee and Rose traveled together in their motor home to many places within the United States and took several cruises where they developed fond memories and relationships with people from many places. Together they frequently traveled to visit relatives and friends in Italy and Switzerland, places they both hold dear to their hearts. Lee was a family man and valued the time he spent with his family. He was the beloved husband of Rose Tessandori, and father to his children David Tessandori, Ron Tessandori and Renee Daniels, and was admired by his grandchildren Scott Tessandori, Eric Tessandori, Justin Tessandori, Lisa Tessandori Palo, Cassi Tessandori, Ryan Daniels, Kristin Hutsell, Jenny Daniels, 6 great-grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was the patriarch of the family, a man who was respected for his character and lead by example for others. Lee had a love for great Italian food and always had a stick of salami and French bread on hand to share when company arrived. His door was open and he welcomed company freely, where he always entertained with his witty comments and sense of humor. He could light up the room with his smile, and always knew how to get a good chuckle from his company. In the memory of Lee a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, you will be missed and never forgotten. You will be in our hearts forever.
