bakersfield.com/obits Lois Ann Paradise August 28, 1941 - February 10, 2013 Lois Ann Paradise "Nannie" was born in Dassel, MN. She lived there until she was 17 years old when she decided to venture west with one of her sisters to attend Bakersfield College. On her train ride west to Bakersfield she met her handsome husband John Paradise. John was on his way back to Castle Air Force Base. The two met as the train passed through Texas. Lois and John were married December 22, 1961. Lois started a career in Advertising in 1963. She eventually started her own business in advertising in 1990 and kept it going for 15 years. She also acted as wedding coordinator for her church Valley Baptist for almost 30 years. Above all she was a dedicated Wife, Mother and Grandmother that enjoyed helping others. She had a Beautiful Heart that could be seen by all. Through all of her life she relied on God as her guide. She is a Charter Member of Valley Baptist Church and truly is a good and faithful servant of the Lord. Lois was preceded in death by her husband John. Lois is survived by three Children - Gareth Paradise wife Rhonda; Kimberly husband Cleavant Flippin; Kelly husband Brian Alexander. Eight Grandchildren, Sarah Ashley Paradise, Kasey Paradise, Lyndsey Paradise, Samantha Alexander, Myka Harding-Flippin, Summer Alexander, Robert Alexander and Jevon Flippin. She was preceded in death by her sister Irma Peterson and is survived by siblings Emily Mackie, Goldie Omdahl, Marvin Anderson, Melvin Anderson, Fay Shanholtzer, Gilbert Anderson, Howard Anderson, Orville Anderson, Percy Anderson, Ralph Anderson and Linda Madsen. Please join us in the celebration of her life Wednesday, February 20th, 11a.m., at Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Ave.
