Lois Plotner Obituary
Lois Plotner 1/29/27 - 9/22/13 Lois Plotner, 86, passed away September 22, 2013 in Bakersfield. Lois was born in Tuttle, Oklahoma on January 29, 1927 and was one of three daughters born to Ollie and Robert Daniel. To search for work, her parents came out west during the dust bowl and settled in Bakersfield. It was here that she met the love of her life, Buddy Plotner, to whom she was married to for over thirty years until she lost him to cancer in 1981. It is good to know that they are finally together again, hopefully dancing to a good ole Bob Wills song. Lois used her talents in the kitchen as a cook for the Bakersfield City School District for many years. Her family and friends enjoyed her fried chicken, cobblers, and fantastic Thanksgiving dinners. Friends of her children have fond memories of Lois cooking tacos, pies, and any good "Oklahoma" food for them any day of the week. She was very proud she lived to see all four grandchildren graduate from college, get married, and have families of their own. Lois loved to watch Tiger Woods, and seldom missed watching any tournaments on the Golf Channel. Survivors include sisters Geneivie Wimer (Larry) and Juanita Jensen, son Gary Plotner (Jenny), and daughter Bonnie Fowle (Ed). She is also survived by four grandchildren: Samantha Stollberg (Jim), Candice Banducci (Jamie), Matthew Plotner (Erica), and Natalie Green (Ryan); and eight great grandchildren: Claire Banducci, Dominic Banducci, Benjamin Banducci, Finn Green, Luca Green, A.J. Stollberg, Jack Stollberg, and Hannah Plotner. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant son, Ronnie. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn River Boulevard on Friday, September 27th at 11:30 am. A lunch reception will follow in celebration of Lois' life at Stockdale Country Club at 1:30 pm. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CASA of Kern County at 2000 24th Street #130, Bakersfield, 93301, or on-line at www.kerncasa.org. The family will be notified by CASA of your donation. The family also wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Memorial Hospital who made her last week as comfortable as possible following a debilitating stroke. www.bakersfield.com/obits
