Lola Lela DeWitt

Lola Lela DeWitt passed away on June 29, 2014. She was born on April 13, 1921 to William and Mamie Clendenen. She had 4 brothers and 1 sister in which all preceded her in death. Lola attended local schools and graduated from high school in 1939. Shortly after, she married Barton DeWitt. Together they had three children; two sons and one daughter.
In 1945 they bought a cabin in Sugarloaf Mountain Park where much of her time was spent, especially summers. Many memories were made there, especially with her children and grandchildren. Lola enjoyed growing a variety of flowers (she loved her roses), plants, vegetables, and fruit trees. She could usually be found outdoors where she preferred spending her time.
Later in life she enjoyed some traveling. Alaska and Hawaii were her favorites. Even at 93 years of age, Lola had a sharp memory. She would enjoy sharing stories and memories of her days growing up and times spent at the cabin. Lola is survived by her son, Michael DeWitt; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had time for her family and is loved and missed very much. We are thankful for all the years we were able to share with her. We will see her one day again.
