Lola Roberts Goodrich Obituary
Lola Roberts Goodrich December 16, 1925 - November 14, 2013 Lola went to be with the Lord, Thursday November 14, 2013 in Bakersfield, CA, where she has lived for 66 years. She was born December 16, 1925 in Fox, AR. Her services will be held at Greenlawn Mortuary on November 22, 2013 @ 2 pm. She and husband Elmer Lee "Skinny" Roberts moved to Bakersfield in 1947. They raised 3 sons, Richard Childers, Ron and Roy Roberts. (Roy deceased) She was a great Wife, Mom and Grandma and truly a beautiful Angel. Lola was blessed with 6 Grand children (1 deceased), 14 Great and 4 Great-Great Grand children. She was loved by so many friends and never too busy to give a hug or say, "I love you." She made everyone's life better. She was patient, loving, gentle and kind. She loved unconditionally and taught her family what real love was all about. Lola was prepared to be with the Lord, saying many times what a blessed life she was given. She was married to 2 wonderful men and blessed with a great family. After Elmer passed away in 1989, she married a lifelong friend Ralph Goodrich in 1997 and they spent 12 wonderful years together, traveling, dancing and cooking great family dinners. Lola loved life and lived it to the fullest, enjoying activities like fishing, camping, horse-racing, and gambling in Las Vegas, Laughlin and Tachi Palace. But most of all she loved to be with her family and friends. Lola was a hard working woman who spent years working in the grocery business and retired from the Bakersfield City School District after working 24 years in the food service dept. Our family is so grateful for all the prayers from so many and for the love you gave to her for so many years. She loved and treasured all of you so very much. A thank you to her granddaughter Renea, who was her special caretaker, who learned so much about true love from Grandma. www.bakersfield.com/obits
