Lorrie Mulholland Obituary
Lorrie Mulholland January 2, 1960 - July 13, 2013 Memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on July 19, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Lorrie Mulholland. Lorraine Ann "Lorrie"Mulholiand was born January 2,1960 in Houston, Texas to her parents, Owen (Moe) and Shirley Mulholland. She moved to Bakersfield in 1963 and attended Roosevelt and St. Francis Schools. She graduated from Garces High School in 1978 and then attended Chaffey College studying court reporting. She lived and worked in the Upland, Ontario, and San Diego areas for 12 years. She returned to Bakersfield in 1990 to have her baby, Brandon Michael who became the love of her life. Lorrie truly lived for her son. She worked for Clark Pest Control for several years and then decided to move to Maui, Hawaii to join her two brothers, Mike and Jim. She worked for Marriott Hotels until she was diagnosed with Cancer in 2010. She fought a courageous battle with the disease and came home to Bakersfield to be near her Mother in September 2012. Lorrie had an overwhelming compassion for others and was truly the definition of a Good Samaritan. Her deep love and protective nature toward her family was second to none. Lorrie was also commonly known as "the pet rescuer" to those who knew her. We believe St Francis has a new assistant whether he likes it or not. Lorrie was preceded in death by her father Moe Mulholland and both sets of grandparents. She is survived by her son, Brandon Mulholland of San Diego, CA, mother Shirley Persinger and step-father Lee of Bakersfield, five brothers, Patrick (Jenny) of Honolulu, HI, Daniel (Jani) of San Ramon, CA, Dennis of Roseville, CA, Michael of Lahaina, HI, and James of Lahaina, HI and one sister, Maureen Haer (Daniel) of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews who were truly an integral part of her life. Melissa, Patrick, Lauren, Mathew, Taylor, Bryanne, Kaylee, Madeline, Paige, John, and Kellen and a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. We would like to thank her many friends for their continuous love and support especially Michelle Lamicq, Dawn Shropshire, Genie Yubeta, Cathy Malone, and the entire Malone family. To honor Lorries commitment to the rescue of animals, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to: Friends of the Kern County Animal Services Foundation, PO Box 11494, Bakersfield, Ca 93389.
