Lucian Paul Amos Obituary
Lucian was born on April 23, 1922 in Los Angeles, CA. He passed away on May 23, 2015 at the age of 93. He was raised in Glendale and graduated in 1941 from Hoover High. Lucian served in the US Navy during WWII after which he attended Cal Poly SLO, majoring in Dairy Science. In 1948 he moved to Bakersfield to work for Carnation Fresh Milk Plant. At the time of his retirement in 1984, he was Production manager. Lucian and his wife, Harriet, were married in June of 1949.
Lucian was involved in both local 4H and FFA. He loved working with his children, grandchildren and many other exhibitors. He also served as the Dairy and Poultry Chairman at the Kern County Fair. He served as a deacon and member of the Clipper Club at the First Presbyterian Church for many years. He was also an active member of the local Y'smen for numerous years after moving to Bakersfield. In his retirement he and his wife loved spending time at Pismo Beach where he served on the Board of Directors at Pismo Coast Village.
He is preceded in death by his wife Harriet and sister Sunny Webber. Lucian is survived by his daughters Suzanne and husband Cliff Meeks and Lorrie and husband Kent Roberts, five grandchildren: Alison and husband Mike Hord, Jeff and wife Stephanie Meeks, and Amanda, Brittney and Chelsey Roberts. Also four great grandchildren and sisters Joanne Critchlow, and Carolyn Wolsey.
The family appreciates the friendship and loving care he received at Rosewood for the past six years, particularly his time in the Grove.
Memorial services will be held on June 15th at 1:00 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel on Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation is made to .
