Lynn Casavant Obituary
Lynn (Marilyn) Lee Casavant, 79, passed away June 20, 2015 in Bakersfield. She was born Sept. 15, 1935 in San Francisco to Isaac and Raye Wageman Cordova. Lynn graduated from Franklin High School in Monrovia, CA in 1953, she later earned a degree in Interior Design from Fullerton College. In 1954 she married her High School sweetheart, Richard E. Casavant. They raised two sons and were happily married for 45 years until Dick went to be with the Lord in 1999. Lynn grew up ice skating, performing and competing until she moved to Bakersfield in 1992. Ice time in Bakersfield is scarce so she switched to line dancing until last year when breast cancer slowed her down. Lynn was involved with Community Bible Study for many years and most recently worshiped at Living Grace Community Church.
She is survived by sons; Steven of San Francisco and Scott (Linda) of Bakersfield. Grandsons; Luke (Jenna) and Tyler (Jenna). Great Grandchildren; Ezekiel, David, Nathan, Claire, Layla and Alexis Casavant, all of Bakersfield. Her sister; Judy (Earl) Welk of Laguna Woods, CA. Brothers; Bill (Cathe) Cordova of Laguna Niguel, CA; Ron (Debbi) Steffen and Craig (Laura) Steffen of Lancaster, CA.
Her Memorial Service is Tuesday, July 7, 2015, 1pm at Riverlakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Dr. Bakersfield.
