MARCELINA ALSTON Obituary
Marcelina Alston was born on May 13, 1917 to Spanish immigrants, Laurence and Sebastiana Urizalqui in Los Angeles, California. She spent her childhood years in Bakersfield, CA. She married Henry(Pete) Alston and after World War II they moved to Texas to be near Pete's family. Pete passed away in 1979. Together they had one son, Larry, who passed away in 2003. Later that year Marcie moved back to Bakersfield to be near her remaining family.
She is preceded in death by her husband and son, her parents and brothers, Mart, Gabe and Lawrence Urizalqui, and sister Mary Fanucchi.
Left to cherish Aunt Smitty's memory are her nieces and nephews and their families:
Monsignor Richard Urizalqui, Mary Anne Coyle (Dan), Vince, John (Rachell), Mike (Laura) and David (Carrie) Fanucchi, Barbara Crear (Tom), Patty Brown and Pam Bell, and a nephew in Texas, Paul McConnell.
We would like to thank the caregivers at Summit Hills and Comfort Care for their exceptional and compassionate care and comfort which they provided Marcelina over the last couple of years. Also to Hoffman Hospice for their recent care.
At Marcelina's request there will be no service.
