Marcelino Ederra Jr. Obituary

Marcelino Ederra, Jr.

Marcelino "Marty" Ederra passed away, surrounded by his family, on Sunday September 9, 2018 at the age of 83. He was born in Worland, Wyoming on March 8, 1935. His family moved from Wyoming to Arvin, California in 1947 and called it home. He graduated from Arvin High School in 1953 and married his wife of 63 years, Judy, in 1955. Soon after, they had three daughters, which left him outnumbered in a household of girls, but he loved it. His family meant everything to him.

Marty was an appliance technician at Sears for 34 years before retiring. He had the innate ability to fix "anything." During his life, he enjoyed tinkering in his yard, driving his MGB, traveling with his wife, spending time with his brother Eddie, and going to the BC Renegade football games, where he sat in the same seat for decades.

Church was an important part of his life. He attended Sunday morning mass at OLPH for over 40 years. He also taught catechism and was a lector for many years.

Marty was kind, funny, stubborn, compassionate, loving, devoted, loyal, and "never wrong." He was our hero.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Marcelino Sr., sisters, Lucille and Margaret, great-grandson, Levi, and his son-in-law, Steve.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy, his daughters, Theresa (Gary) Rader, Tamera (Mike) Saso, and Tonya (Steve) DeBranch, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, his beloved brother Edward and his sister Mary. His family loves him and will miss him. His funeral mass will be held Tuesday, September 18th at 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution to the .
