Margaret Isabel "Peggy" Jones Obituary
Margaret Isabel Jones aka "Peggy" passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014. She was born Margaret Isabel Sullivan September 13, 1926 in New York City to Monica and Michael Sullivan. Peggy was a natural athlete who had a love of all sports and was drawn to further her studies in physical education at New York University where she was a star player on the bowling team. She met and married the love of her life Robert "Bob" Jones while still in college. They raised their family in Brooklyn, New York and had four children. Peggy was versatile in many areas and helped run her husband's business as well as her dance studio, offering classes and putting on shows for the families of Good Shepherd School. Bob and Peggy moved to Bakersfield to start a new life in 1975 and started a new career working for the County of Kern as a Case Worker for the Welfare Department. Peggy was always up for any kind of sport or games; she loved bowling, golf, playing cards with family and gambling at the casinos.
She is survived by her husband Bob, her daughters Margaret Blanc and Patricia Jones, her sons Robert Jones and Thomas Jones, her son-in-law Henri Blanc, her daughters-in-law Kathleen Jones and Gail Jones, her grandsons Loren V. Blanc, Timothy Jones, Christopher Jones, Eric Jones, Michael Jones, Robert Levine, Jason Levine, and her granddaughter Heather Levine as well as her four great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her for her sense of humor and her love of life.
