Margaret Josephine Nichols Obituary
Margaret, AKA Peggy, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 7, 2015 in Bakersfield, CA. She was born in Haskell, Oklahoma to Elmer and Oleta Ricketts. Survived by husband, Gary Nichols and two sons, David Spencer of Tulare, CA and Mike Spencer of San Dimas, CA. Three step children; Sharon Ward of Hesperia, CA, Darren Nichols of Los Osos and Darryl Nichols of Hesperia, CA with a total of 6 grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren.
As a young teen, she worked at a drug store soda fountain and as a phone operator on the night shift in Haskell. She later moved to California and worked at a Credit agency in downtown Los Angeles and eventually landed a very good job with Capitol Records as a Secretary in a record pressing plant in the Glendale area. Later Joe Spencer died in an Auto Accident.
Margaret began work in a new career in advertising and public relations for Sparkletts Drinking Water Corp in the Eagle Rock area of LA. She retired in 1990 as "Advertising and public relations coordinator" of the McKesson Corp. Water Division. While there, she met and married Gary Nichols and moved to Kern River Valley with her husband, where they pastored Full Gospel Fellowship and later established Christian Assembly. The Nichols moved to Bakersfield in April of 2011.
Services will be held at Faith Temple on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 2:00 pm at 1227 Park Drive (Park at Niles) arrangements through Mission Family Mortuary. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetary on River Blvd. in Bakersfield, CA following the service.
