Margaret L. Patterson Obituary
Margaret Lanora Patterson was born January 14, 1915, in Long Beach, CA to Roy Horton and Gladys Elisabeth Scott. She spent her younger years in Southern California where she married Hardy Cecil Patterson and started their family. During 1942-44, the family followed the oil industry to several towns and finally settled in Bakersfield in 1944. Margaret started back to school in 1950 eventually graduating from BHS High School, Bakersfield College and Fresno State. She spent 25 years teaching in the El Tejon School District at Mettler Elementary.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, H.C. "Tex" Patterson, son, Terry Philip Patterson, daughter-in-law, Patricia Sue Patterson, and all three of her siblings: Mary Sutton, Roy "Don" Scott and Robert Charles.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Gaye and Bill Koepp and their three children, Cynthia, Brian and Gregory and grandson James Hardy Patterson and granddaughter-in-law Danielle and their four children, Kirsii, Micah, Carson and Nikolai.
The family would like to thank first and foremost two wonderful friends. Jalna Clason and Ann Berzinsky who helped cheer her up and was always there for her come rain or shine. Much appreciation goes to Dr. Anthony Valdez, MD and his staff, the staff at Beloved Homecare, especially John, Carol, Flor, Christina and Petro and Optimal Hospice.
Following Margaret's wishes cremation has taken place and she will be interred next to her husband at Hillcrest Memorial Park in a private family ceremony.
