Margaretta Agnes Drake Obituary
Margaretta Agnes Drake 1911 - 2013 Margaretta (Marge) Drake passed away February 24, 2013 at Parkview Julian Convalescent Home. Margaretta was born January 14, 1911 in Flint, MI. She was born to Agnes and Jacob Rabung. She survived all six of her siblings. She moved to Cincinnati, OH with her husband James Redington and three children 1946. They moved to Escondido, CA in 1955, where Margaretta was active in the Boys and Girls Club. She was a charter member of the Women's Auxiliary of Palomar Hospital and served on the Grand Jury in San Diego. They were active members of the First Congregational Church in Escondido. Her husband Jim passed away in 1972. Margaretta then met and married Harry Drake in 1977, and they both fulfilled their dreams of traveling, visiting many countries. As a widow she moved to Bakersfield in 1989. She stayed active in Kern City where she lived. She loved to play bridge and was a member of the Kern City Duplicate Bridge Club. She survived the death of her beloved son, James (Jimmy) Redington, who passed away in 1999. Margaretta is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Reitz and husband Jim; and daughter Sally Kolb; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed here but will have a great reunion in Heaven. There will be farewell celebration at the First Presbyterian Church (17th and "H" St) on March 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. for family friends. Mish Funeral Home www.bakersfield.com/obits
