Maribel succumbed to complications from Parkinson's Disease in Leesburg, Virginia on December 11, 2014. She graduated to eternal life with grace and generosity of spirit, choosing to be an organ donor and give what she could to help others. She was born in Porterville on October 26, 1947 and spent her childhood near Glenville before moving to Oregon with her family. She attended college at Oregon State University. and later got a Master's degree and spent many years working as a Project Manager for Lucent Technology. Maribel was an excellent bridge player, enjoyed reading, singing, photography, travel, and creating bead jewelry. She was known as a "strong woman" as she battled Parkinson's without complaint, continuing to do the activities she enjoyed as often as possible.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fern and Buck and older brothers Gene, Jack, and Jerry. She leaves behind her children Shannon and Brady, her daughter-in-law Valerie, and three grandsons. She will be remembered with love and affection.
A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
