Marilyn M. Dietzel Obituary
Marilyn M. Dietzel October 6, 1923 - October 18, 2012 Marilyn Dietzel, age 89, passed away at home on October 18, 2012. She was born in Downey, CA to Forrest and Dorothy McLane. She worked as a bank teller until she married her high school sweetheart Norman E. Dietzel on May 6, 1946. In August of 1948 Marilyn gave birth to her only child Randall Craig Dietzel. Marilyn and Norm traveled the world, living in several countries, for Norm's job in the oil business. They lived in Iran for several years and Marilyn had many stories from her time there. Marilyn loved to travel. She went on numerous trips and cruises with her friends and family. Marilyn loved watching sports on television, particularly, football and tennis. She also loved playing bridge, you could find her playing with her friends at the Stockdale Country Club at least once a week. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Norman, and her son Randy. Marilyn is survived by her two granddaughters, Stacey Dietzel of Oceano, CA and Kelly Dietzel of Payson, AZ; her two step-grandsons, James Hill of Phoenix, AZ, and Robert Hill of Wilcox, AZ; and one great-grandson. In accordance with her wishes private graveside services will be held. Marilyn will be joining her husband and son at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetary. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hoffman Hospice. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Larry Yokayama, his nurse Melissa Long, and all of the other exceptional staff at Centennial Medical Group and all the many great nurses and staff at Hoffman Hospice.
