Marion Madeline Rice July 23, 1928 - October 7, 2012 Marion was born in Theodore, Saskatchewan, Canada. When she was six years old, her family moved to Magrath, Alberta, Canada where she grew up and met her husband Russell Rice whom she married in 1947. They emigrated from Canada to the USA in 1954 and settled in Stockton, California in 1954. Marion was an accomplished bookkeeper working in the construction and soft drink bottling industries for many years and later as an income tax advisor and preparer. She enjoyed a long full life with husband and family living at various times in California, Illinois, Tennessee and Oregon. Marion will be remembered by her family and friends for her outgoing, loving personality. She was a warm and caring person and wherever she lived she made many, many life-long dear friends. Marion was an eternal optimist who always saw the best and brought out the best in the people she knew. She had a ready smile and positive attitude that brightened the lives of the people around her. Marion was always the one, wherever she went, who was remembered by everyone for her kindness, caring and charm. Marion was pre-deceased by Russell her husband of 59 years. She is survived by daughter Cheri, her husband Richard and grandchildren Natalie and Alex of Ellicott City, Maryland; son Ernie Rice of Bakersfield, California; sister Beverly Pashuk and husband Walt of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the Community Center at RiverLakes Community Church, located at 4301 Calloway Drive, Bakersfield, California. A bereavement gathering and reception will follow immediately thereafter at the White Oak Clubhouse in The Greens at Seven Oaks development located at 2209 Snow Drop Drive, Bakersfield, California (from Old River Road, take the White Oak Drive entrance gate into The Greens at Seven Oaks).
