Marjorie Jean (Jordan) Shepard
April 30, 1930 - May 11, 2018

Marjorie Jean (Jordan) Shepard was born in Ada, Oklahoma on April 30, 1930 to Willie Mae and Cecil Jordan, where she was the youngest of 3 children.

Marjorie moved with her family to Bakersfield shortly after WWII. She attended East Bakersfield High, where she met the love of her life, Aaron Shepard Jr. The handsome couple eloped and were married on September 26, 1948. They had the two cutest children ever (her words), Pamela Lea and Gary Robin. Marjorie enjoyed being a homemaker, taking care of her children, and being a second Mom to many of their friends and neighbors. Alongside her husband, she helped in the family business, Sherry's then Sheppy's Liquors, where customers became good friends Music was an important part of her life. Marjorie was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and entertained her loved ones by breaking out in song on many occasions. She was a fantastic hostess, ensuring that her guests always had a place to stay and a hot meal. She loved her family above all and was their #1 supporter and champion. Once her children were raised, Marjorie spent her time taking care of her mother, elderly friends and neighbors. She was an avid animal lover and could not turn away a stray.

Marjorie believed in Jesus Christ as her personal savior and will be deeply missed. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Pamela Walker, and son, Gary Shepard (Denise); grandchildren, Jill Helmle (Chad), Kyle Shepard, and Hayley Shepard (Matt Laffin); and great-grandsons, Beck and Jude Helmle, and Carson Shepard.

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Northeast on Tuesday, May 15th @ 10am.
