Marvin Jaggars Jr. Obituary
Born in Hamilton TX, he married Peggy White in 1955. They were blessed with 3 children. First, born in TX was daughter Gaylyn, followed by daughter Joy and son Damon, both born in Bakersfield after they moved here in 1961. In 1956 he joined the Army. He was Honorably Discharged at the rank of E5 in 1958. After a 25yr marriage to Peggy, he met Patty Freels. They married in 1981 and remained married almost 34 years until he passed.They enjoyed fishing, his awesome BBQs for friends and family, Square Dancing, and the occasional trip to the Casinos to help support the Local Indian Tribes. In her words, "they shared a wonderful life, strong love, and lived their lives with no regrets". In his later years, he battled physical hurdles, including multiple strokes. Patty at his side, and his strength, kept him going for many years.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father and 3 siblings.He is survived by 2 sisters, wife Patty, Daughters Gaylyn, Joy and Husband Jim, Son Damon and Wife Shanna, Rick Freels and Chris Freels, 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. He will be missed by those who enjoyed his sense of humor and understood his sometimes grumpy exterior. It was a long hard road, but he made it home.
Services will be Wed, Nov 19th at 10am at Daybreak Baptist Church, 5446 Taft Hwy, followed by a graveside memorial with Military Honors at 1:15pm at Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 E Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA.
