MARY CANTELMI MARCHETTI

Obituary Condolences

MARY CANTELMI MARCHETTI Obituary
Mary Marchetti passed into eternal life on November 2, 2016. Born in Tercio, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Reno Marchetti whom she met at an Italian Catholic Federation meeting, and her brothers, Gaetano, Julian, Joseph and Umbert Cantelmi.
She was a life-long member of the Italian Catholic Federation and was also a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, St. Francis Parish and the St. Francis Altar Society. Mary worked at Mercy Hospital for several years and retired from Brocks downtown.
Being the eldest sibling of five, the love shared with her brothers was palpable. Mary's home enveloped Love, Family, Warmth, Generosity, Compassion, Selflessness, and most importantly, her Italian Cooking. There was not a person who entered her kitchen that didn't want to re-visit as often as possible. Mary had a gift of meeting a stranger and making them an instant friend.
She is survived by her son Joseph Marchetti (Donna) and daughter Gertie O'Neil (Larry), grandchildren, Roy (Elisabeth) Marchetti, Julie Marchetti, Brandon and Ryan O'Neil, and her great-grandchildren Arianna, Katya, Sawyer and Victoria.
We would like to thank Dr. Bichai for his unwavering care and compassion for Mary. We would also like to thank the staff at Bakersfield Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care they provided.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at St. Francis on Thursday, November 10th at 8:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 9:00 a.m. Burial at Greenlawn Southwest.
