Mary Fidler August 14, 1924 - October 14, 2010 Funeral services for Mary Fidler will be held in the Chapel at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow. Mary was born on August 14, 1924 in San Francisco, CA. On October 14, 2010, surrounded by family, Mary went home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Fidler; her parents, Angelo and Adele Fanucchi; her brother Frank and sister Gloria. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Liz Fidler; daughter, Ellen Davis; son, Jay Lynn Fidler; grandchildren, Nick and his wife Tammy, Chrissy and her husband Dan, Allie, Allyse, Chase, Donovan and his wife Tammi, Shari and her husband Jake, Scott, and Jason; six great-grandchildren; brother Gene and his wife Liz; and sister Carol and her husband Jerome. Mary was an animal lover and especially loved cats. She donated to the SPCA and she strongly supported their mission. It broke her heart to see strays, therefore she took it upon herself to make sure they were safe and fed until she could find them a good home. She enjoyed traveling in motor home and spending time with her husband, family and friends. Her favorite location was Pismo Beach, where she and J.L. retired for many years. After the death of her husband, she moved back to Bakersfield to be closer to her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was proud of them more than anything else. She also loved to crochet and made beautiful Afghans for those she cherished.
