Mary Lorraine Hall (Gatlin) Barker Obituary
"Barker" as she was known affectionately to everyone, was born, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Barker retired from Pac Bell/AT&T after 30 years of service (1957 - 1987). Working her way up in management, was a Union Steward and avid volunteerer.
She never met a stranger, and would do anything for a laugh. Known for her sense of humor, she made everyone feel comfortable, welcomed and brought out the best in people. Nothing made Barker happier than having her friends and family near.
She donated her time, energy, money or belongings. Whether it was dressing up as Santa Claus for mental health or senior centers, crocheting blankets as gifts, serving food for the homeless, donating her rare blood type or giving the sweater off her back, she did it with a smile and a happy heart.
Barker was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Hall, father Warren Hall, son, Jerry Gatlin and husband Richard Barker. She is survived by her younger brother, Tom Grosso, children Debbie Bowler and Tom Gatlin, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several cousins.
A private family Celebration of Life is being held. Many thanks from her immediate family to the caregivers in her final years for your hard work and compassion. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Houchin Blood Bank
As Barker would say "Peace, Love and Happiness" to all.
