Mary Lou (Touchstone) Wilder, 83, passed away quietly at home September 11, 2014, with her daughters by her side in Bakersfield, CA.
She was born June 4, 1931, in Broken Bow, OK. to Ollie and Susan Touchstone. They moved to Bakersfield, CA with 8 siblings and then to Lamont were she grew up. She convalesced at home watching her favorite tv shows, Magnum PI, Rockford Files, Big Valley, and Walker Texas Ranger. Mary Lou enjoyed vacations at the beach, bowling, and roller skating. Her interests were mainly family, family gatherings and great-grandchildren's sporting events. She graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1950.
Mary Lou is survived by her brother Ollie Touchstone, daughters Pamela Smith and Tami Pensinger, grandson Bill Smith of Idaho, granddaughters Stephanie Pensinger and Kimberly Pensinger and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ollie Touchstone, mother Susan Touchstone, brothers Wilburn, Elwood, and Jackie Touchstone, sisters Lucille O'Grady, Yvonne Dodd, Betty Counts, and Brenda Fisher, grandson Nicholas Smith.
Her family would like to thank Optimal Hospice for their amazing and wonderful support team, Kimberly Pensinger and Stephanie Pensinger for their loving care while she convalesced.
Celebration of Life for Mary Lou will be held at 2323 East Hills Dr. #44, Bakersfield, 93306 at 12pm, Saturday September 20, 2014
