Mary V Garcia, 91 passed away Wednesday September 30, 2015, Bakersfield, Ca. Personal History: Daughter of Pedro and Conception Filoteo Vigil, Mary was born in Waco, Texas, March 28, 1924. Married to Robert H Garcia on October 11, 1942. Mary being part of the "Greatest Generation" was a dutiful wife and mother during World War II. One of Moms greatest joy was her career as a dietician aid. One of her great accomplishment was going from being a stay at home mom raising 6 children, never working outside the home to becoming a successful dietician aide, maintaining an excellent work ethics until her retirement. Mary was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, having been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ in the mid at 1930's. She amazed her children and all who knew her with her incredibly resilience and determination to survive. She put all her faith in the lord and relied on Him up too her very last breathe. She excelled in and had natural ability with gardening, keeping beautiful flower which made her home the most beautiful in the neighborhood. Mom was a lifetime member of the Apostolic Assembly Church. Mom other most important activity, was reading the Holy Bible, worshipping and honoring the Lord Jesus Christ. Mom's demeanor and determination was shaped in her youth by the Great Depression, being both very generous and fertile. Survived by, Robert Jr, Mary Ann Virrey, Gloria Nava, Albert, Tomas And Stephen. She was preceded in death by her Husband Robert H Garcia and her siblings, Pete, John, Henry, Sam, Thomas, Connie, Minnie, Parents Pedro and Conception, first born grandson Bobby B Garcia.
Services will be held October 7, .2015 at 10:00am at the the Apostolic Assembly Church on Mt Vernon Ave, Bakersfield, Ca. graveside service immediately following at Greenlawn Cemetery.
