Merlin was a long-time member of the Bakersfield Racket Club and was known by several nicknames (Rocket & Bullet) because of his rocket speed and bullet shots on the court. Dad's greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He took great interest and pride in their activities; Anthony's Football and Lacrosse, Kathrine's Cheer and Dance, Dominic's Track and Football (just like Merlin's son Phillip) and Tessa's Soccer and Tennis. He also enjoyed spending time with his family on Balboa Island fishing on the pier and their many trips to Dewar's. Dad treasured his friends; the Wednesday night poker gang, Vegas Trips, breakfast with friends. He especially loved watching football games. Merlin was the best father and incredible grandpa. He was an extremely trusted person in the community and a true gentleman. Dad, life will never be the same without you. Thank you for always being there for us. As per Dad's written wishes, no Funeral Services will be held. We want to thank everyone for your thoughts, support and prayers.
