Great-great grandchildren Destiny, Stephanie, Stephen, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, Hunter, Thomas, Harley, Ryan, Dex, Matia, William and many nieces and nephews. Millie came to California in 1936 with her family. They were migrant workers for a few years. They settled in Arvin where she grew up. We heard many stories of those times over the years. During the WWII era, she worked at Minter Field as a "Rosie the Riveter", and a telephone operator. She was a hard working, caring woman. She worked for and retired from Multi-Business Systems after 25 years to care for her husband. She then went back to work for another 6 years. She went to London and Hawaii and fell in love, she went back to Hawaii 3 more times. Millie loved her family. She could be a little rough on us once in a while, but she was there when we needed her. We have had a Christmas party since I was a little girl. At one point my mom took over the task. When she moved to the trailer house she had to quit. Thank goodness she had a nephew that loved it as much as she did. He took over the job. That party was one of the many joys in her life. There is no one that I know of that loved her family as much as she did. Mom, you will be greatly missed, but tell everyone up there we all say "HI". Viewing will be Tuesday from 5-8 at Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Ave. Services will be Wednesday at 12 p.m. at the Arvin Cemetery, 15543 S. Vineland Rd.
