Mildred Elinor Brown-Jones June 22, 1927 - May 17, 2012 Mildred, 84, of Bakersfield went to live with our Lord on May 17, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. She was devoted to her husband, James David Jones. She is survived by her family, Terry and Nancy Brown, Alan and Cecilia Brown, Sharynne and David Giggy, Linda Kizziar, Paula Brown, Betty Gardiner, James Jones, Charles and Nina Jones, and Vicky and Paul Kanady; sisters Shirley and Francis, numerous grandchildren, great, great-great, and great-great-great- grandchildren, nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly. She blessed all of us. Nursing was her occupation for many years in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo and in Bakersfield. she had a true heart for all of her patients, and wanted to bring many of them home, especially abandoned or abused babies. Upon her retirement from KMC, she spent a lot of her time painting. She was a faithful servant to our Lord and loved to sing in the choir and help out where ever she could in the church. We are eternally grateful to Shurise McAlister, Cecilia Brown, Misti Jones, Lisa Keller and Nina Jones for their loving care! We also wish to thank Hoffmann Hospice and their staff who hold a special place in our hearts. Thanks for your excellent care. Viewing is to be held on Tuesday, May 22nd from 1:00 to 9:00pm at Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Ave, 93304. Graveside service is to be held Wednesday, May 23rd, 10:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd, 93306.
