Muriel Parker October 25, 1922 - May 10, 2013 Services are being held Monday at 11 AM in Pleasant View Baptist Church 700 Haley St. for Muriel Parker, 90, who passed this life May 10th, in Fresno CA. Viewing will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to services. Pastor Tim Graves will officiate with internment to follow in Union Cemetery. Mrs. Parker was a native of Richmond, VA. She married the late Ezra Parker in 1944 and they moved with their family to Bakersfield in 1945. She was employed by Kern County as a librarian assistant for 29 years. After her retirement, she was involved in many activities. She was a member of The Business and Professional Women's Circle and was a faithful and active member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star, Santa Joaquina Chapter #14 Prince Hall Rite of Adoption. Those preceding her in death are her husband, Ezra Parker and a daughter, Sandra Elaine Parker. Survivors include her daughter Lora Fay Parker-Burton (Calvin) of Fresno, CA. 3 grandchildren, Kevin Olison of San Ramon, CA, Benjamin Olison of Fresno, CA, Shelley Williams (Dwight) of Brentwood, CA. 6 great grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher and Demetruis of Brentwood, CA, Hope Hollinger of Clarksville, TN, Parker & Sydney Olison of San Ramon, CA, and a host of relatives and friends.
