Murl Gene Wallis Obituary
Murl was born in Little Rock, AK. At a young age his family moved to Earlimart, CA. He grew up there and enlisted in the army during the Viet Nam conflict. He married Carole Brown of Delano. The army sent them to Germany where their son Matthew was born. After being discharged from the army, Murl was employed with the City of Bakersfield for twenty-five years retiring as a supervisor in the Streets Department. He then moved to Missouri where he had a cattle ranch. He died due to an accident at his ranch.
Murl was one of five sons born to Marl and Emma Wallis, both deceased. He is survived by his four brothers, Weldon, Norman (Martha), Clifford (Brenda), Vernon (Loretta). He also leaves his wife Deanne, son Matthew (Shari) grandson Gary Mitchell (Trish) and a large family of cousins and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held in Jenkins, Missouri on Thursday June 26, 2014. He was laid to rest close to the land he loved. He will be deeply missed.
